Junior Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer (m/f/d)

As a subsidiary of VELA Group SE, VELA Performance GmbH develops vehicles, systems, and components for the automotive, defense, and special applications – from the initial concept to the fully functional prototype.

We work on projects that aren't available off the shelf.

Your tasks & activities:

To expand our sales in a structured way, we are not looking for a classic sales manager, but rather an operationally strong employee who will work with us to systematically develop sales.


Lead generation

  • Identification of relevant target customers (Automotive, Defence, Special Vehicles)

  • Research on companies and contacts

  • Building and maintaining a structured lead pipeline

Customer communication

  • Initial contact via email, LinkedIn and possibly telephone.

  • Systematic follow-up of contacts

  • Preparation and support for initial consultations

Offer support

  • Assistance in the preparation of offers

  • Structuring content, providing support for calculations

  • Tracking of ongoing offers

Structure & Processes

  • Maintenance and further development of our CRM system

  • Documentation of all sales activities

  • Building clear, efficient sales processes



Important for you to know:

  • This is not purely a strategy or management job.

  • You work operationally and hands-on.

  • You will receive intensive training from us and develop along with the role.

  • You are the backbone of our sales team, not just a "door-to-door salesman".

Your abilities:

  • completed university degree, ideally in industrial engineering or a comparable field.

  • first practical experience (internships or 1-3 years of professional experience in sales, project management or technology)

  • technical understanding and interest in complex products

  • structured and reliable working methods

  • very good written communication skills (German & English)

  • don't be afraid to actively approach new contacts.
