Development Engineer (m/f/d)
As a subsidiary of VELA Group SE, VELA Performance GmbH develops innovative solutions in the automotive and non-automotive sectors.
Our team of lightweight construction specialists develops high-performance components and systems for automobiles, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, as well as the aerospace and medical technology industries.
We cover the entire process: from initial product sketches to functional prototypes, which are assembled in our in-house workshop.
Your tasks & activities:
Development of components in collaboration with overall vehicle development and suppliers
Development of tools taking into account manufacturing requirements
Conducting concept studies
Conducting installation space analyses in the overall vehicle context
Creating kinematic models
Establishing system requirements and conducting requirements analyses
Derivation of system requirements from customer inquiries
Preparation of system specifications on behalf of the customer
Creation of work packages and specifications
Coordination of internal development tasks
Supervision of subcontractors
Preparation and execution of team meetings and reviews
Coordination and monitoring of the development process up to series production readiness (internal/external)
Budget and schedule responsibility for the technical scope
Participation in the development and implementation of innovative solutions
Your abilities:
Completed technical studies in the field of automotive engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable discipline
Several years of professional experience in the field of complete vehicle development
Expertise in using a CAD system, ideally CATIA V5
technical understanding
sound knowledge in vehicle engineering and manufacturing processes
Exceptional teamwork skills and resilience, as well as a structured and goal-oriented work style.
Social skills as well as a confident and convincing demeanor
Excellent communication skills in German and English
